Co+op Explorers: A Healthy Adventure!
We are excited to launch our Co+op Explorers program for children 12 and under! This adventure will bring excitement to growing palates, a sense of ownership and a start to learning the cooperative model and a (hopefully!) smoother shopping experience for you!
Starting today, kids ages 12 and under are invited to become a Whole Earth Co+op Explorer and be eligible to receive one free piece of fruit per visit! To become a card-carrying Co+op Explorer, kids simply need to bring a parent or supervising adult to the check-out counter and ask to become a Co+op Explorer. Each child will be issued their very own super official Co+op Explorers card!
Then, once kids are signed up, here's how it works:
Kids and parents stop by the produce cooler in the front of the store, where we keep the designated Co+op Explorers free fruit basket. Next to the basket, you'll find our Co+op Explorers stickers. Take a sticker and put it on your child's shirt or jacket (that's so staff will know your child or children are fruit eating Co+op Explorers, and they can account for it at the checkout counter). Then, each child is eligible to take one free piece of fruit and enjoy eating it while you shop.
When you check out, please remind the cashier (or have your child present their card!) that your child or children ate a free piece of fruit as part of Co+op Explorers so that we can track participation in the program.
That's all there is to it! If you have any questions, please ask our friendly cashier.
After you recieve your child's passport, they have the opportunity to "visit" different fruits and vegetables and take notes about them. Once they "visit" all of the items listed in their passport they can return it for a special gift in the store!
Now go out and explorer!
